Asos Get Into Google+ Hangouts

We’ve not see too many campaigns for Google Hangouts to date; it’s still early days. But we were interested to see ASOS, the major online clothes retailer, get stuck in and host a decent Hangout, with what we think is certain to be a great tool for brands to engage their fans and get very creative.

The ASOS event was an hour long ‘Shop-Along’, in which their US Editor Indigo Clark, and a New York fashion guru Cory Kennedy took questions live online. They were able to interactively run through items on the ASOS website with their viewers, and have good old chat about all the latest looks, proffering advice along the way. [Watch]

Although there were fewer than 200 attendees, we think this will be just the start of brands using Google+ Hangouts more creatively on both a small and larger scale. The potential to intelligently target key influencers and enfranchise super-fans, is very obvious.
