Mobile marketing agency M&C Saatchi Mobile has opened an office in Sydney, Australia, as it expands its global presence. It’s the sixth office M&C Saatchi Mobile has opened this year, and the agency says that it has plans to open a further five in 2013. The Australian office, headed up by business development manager Sarah Di Mento, will provide services including media planning and buying, creative and production, and consultancy.
Admittedly, Australia isn’t somewhere we spend a lot of time writing about here at Mobile Marketing, but it’s actually got the second-highest smartphone penetration rate in the world, higher than the US, UK and Japan.
“The Australian market is ready. Our entry strategy is very similar to what we’ve deployed and been hugely successful with in the UK and US markets, as well as our recently opened South Africa office,” Di Mento said. “By being the first to enter the Australian market we intend to maximise our position early and shape the industry.”
